A NSW Rural Fire Service Canobolas Zone spokesperson said crews went into "property protection" as the fire rushed into the home's backyard.
The spokesperson said the property is now safe, however the fire has now burnt out 40 hectares.
There are four fixed-wing planes and one helicopter water-bombing the site.
Baldry Road will be closed as firefighters remove a number of smouldering trees along the road.

FIRE crews are rushing to an out-of-control fire near Cumnock this afternoon.
A NSW Rural Fire Canobolas Zone spokesperson said the fire was midway between Cumnock and Baldry, on the Baldry Road, about 59 kilometres west of Orange.
Eight firefighters are already on the scene of the 10-hectare scrub and grass fire.
A helicopter and two fixed-wing aircraft have also been deployed to waterbomb the area.
NSW Police are also on their way to the incident.
The fire comes as firefighters remain at the scene of a fire near Long Point which has been burning since New Year's Day. It has already burnt 475 hectares.
