TLG Gym members Toby Westcott and Brock Campbell have bouts in Saturday’s Oceania Boxing fight night in Auckland, New Zealand.
This comes after they were selected in the NSW Amateur Boxing team following the state titles.
Campbell won the state title in the 54kg junior division.
Westcott lost the final in the 57kg junior division but was still selected in the NSW team.
Saturday’s fight in Auckland is another step in their preparation for the Australian Championships which will be held in Adelaide in February.
The TLG Gym has had more success recently in Muay Thai.
Just over a week ago, Phil Tyquin and Nikita Campbell won Muay Thai bouts in Nowra.
Last Saturday Campbell then celebrated another win in Nyngan.
TLG Gym head trainer Gavin Westcott has been impressed with the work of his students and the results they are earning.
“The whole group have been training very hard and we have had great assistance from other local trainers Jake Kenney, Glen Sutherland and Ben Quarmby,” Westcott said.
“Phil and Nikita are both matched for Australian and State Muay Thai titles respectively in Canberra on December 7, while Toby and Brock have their eyes fixed on the Adelaide trip.
“Its great that Glen, Jake and Ben have helped out with sparring partners and training also. It’s so important to have multiple experienced people surround and help them.”
Westcott and Campbell leave for New Zealand tomorrow and will fight in Auckland on Saturday before returning home on Sunday.
