TONY Briggs wants Orange City Council to prioritise road repairs in east Orange and claims his car’s shock absorbers were damaged while driving down Bletchington Street.
The east Orange resident said he routinely drives down Bletchington Street when travelling to his doctor’s appointments or shopping and fears the large potholes and uneven surface will cause even further damage to his vehicle.
“I think it’s shocking,” he said.
“Work needs to be done so people can start using the road again.
“Even taxi drivers complain about Bletchington Street.”
Mr Briggs said he’s called the council twice in the past month to complain about the roads in his area and has also lodged a complaint with member for Orange Andrew Gee
“He [Mr Gee] said he’s got enough on his schedule at the moment and probably won’t get to it for another three or four months.”
Mr Briggs said he wants to know how council prioritises the roads it chooses to repair.
“Half the time they do roads that don’t need to be done.”
