Peisley takes a turn for the better

THE ongoing upgrades to Peisley Street between Summer and Kite streets have been completed.

The right turn lane in Peisley Street between Summer and Kite streets has been removed as part of the work in an effort to improve safety ensure a smoother road service.

The work is also expected to reduce ongoing maintenance costs for Orange City Council.

Orange City Council mayor John Davis said he was pleased the work had been completed and he looked forward to more joint-funded projects between the NSW government and Orange City Council.

“The highway intersection and this stretch of Peisley Street is one of the busiest in Orange,” Cr John Davis said.

“The amount of traffic is now matched by the smoothness and long-term quality of the section of the road that’s been upgraded.”

Funds for the upgrade was supplied by the Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) which provided $102,000, under its regional roads repair program and Orange City Council.
