THE exterior of the historic Union Bank building is undergoing a makeover, including a colour change from salmon pink to neutral tones.
Union Bank Wine Bar and Wine Store owner Richard Hattersley said the building’s owner had agreed to undertake a number of renovations.
“It’s long overdue,” he said.
“We were in desperate need of a new roof on the wine bar and we got that last year.”
Renovations are well under way on the building, on the corner of Byng and Sale Streets, with a new roof and windows being fitted and guttering and fascia boards being replaced.
“They’ve been there for 155 years,” he said.
“They needed to be fixed.”
Other work to be undertaken includes the replacement of the Wine Store and kitchen roofs.
