THE Delaney family will today continue efforts to encourage people to donate organs so others can live on the anniversary of their son and brother Kaden’s death in a car accident in April 2006.
Following the crash his family made the brave decision to donate most of 17-year-old Kaden’s organs.
Kaden’s mum Shelley said at the time she was pregnant with her youngest child Nyeema.
“All the other children had a relationship with Kadey and in a way continuing to encourage people to donate blood or organs is a way she can connect with him too,” said Mrs Delaney.
Today the Delaney family will be at the blood bank in Kite Street encouraging people who give blood to go the extra mile and think about organ donation
“It is a way you can really make a difference to someone else’s life,” Kaden’s dad Greg Delaney said.
“If you can’t get here today then think seriously about doing it in the future,” he said.
The Delaneys feel compelled to continue to honour the memory of their son by encouraging as many people as possible to donate.
“Giving blood is a good start,’ said Mr Delaney.
The Delaney family will be operating a sausage sizzle at the blood bank in Kite Street today.
