FOOD Affair's family flavour

TOMORROW’S signature event of FOOD Week, FOOD Affair, has a distinct family focus.

As well as the 40 stallholders showcasing their local food and wine in the Orange Regional Gallery north court, there are plenty of activities for children, according to FOOD Week representative Gina Allen.

“We are expecting a large contingent of visitors from Sydney but at the same time we want to ensure families have a great day as well,”Mrs Allen said.

“We have set up a petting zoo and there will also be face painting and other activities for little ones.”

MasterChef winner Kate Bracks will show off the skills that earned her the title, cooking up some of her favourite recipes for the crowd.

The cooking demonstrations will start at 12.30pm and run until 2.30pm.

“She will also be available for book signings and will have her books here from 10am,” Ms Gundry said.

FOOD Affair runs from 10am until 4pm.

According to Charlotte Gundry of Taste Orange, the numbers for today’s Forage event in the Borenore area have swelled to more than 600 people.
