CHRISTIANS marked the crucifixion of Christ and the resurrection in a number of ways in Orange at the weekend.
On Good Friday Father Paul Devitt of St Joseph’s Catholic Church led parishioners on a walk to the Botanic Gardens in Orange where a service depicting the stations of the cross was held in the gardens. The stations replicated the points at which Christ stumbled and fell as he was led to his crucifixion.
Yesterday churches all over Orange opened their doors to celebrate one of the more joyous days on the Christian calender, to mark the resurrection of Christ.
Reverend Frank Hetherington of Holy Trinity Anglican Church said he was delighted to see so many people attending the Easter services at the weekend.
“In particular it was good to see so many young people and children attending,” he said.
