MEL Bradley and Cathy Mackenzie will be doing their part to ensure Country defeats City at Saturday's
World National Body Building and Fitness Federation event.
The two Orange body builders have been preparing for 12 months for the City versus Country challenge at Wagga.
Mackenzie has a wealth of experience having contested at state and national level.
Bradley will be making her debut in the fitness model division.
Bradley said she had had an interest in the sport for some time and decided to try it herself after watching Mackenzie compete.
"I like muscles and I've always wanted some," Bradley laughed.
"I'm nervous but I'm really excited. I've just got to remember to smile. Cathy has given me heaps of advice on my diet and training."
The fitness model division is often used as a stepping stone for competitors to work their way into the figure divisions.
Fitness model competitors compete in a bikini round and a dress round and are not required to be as defined as the figure competitors.
Mackenzie will compete in two divisions for the first time – the open women's figure and the masters (40 plus) women's figure.
This will provide an extra challenge for Mackenzie but she feels she is better prepared.
"I have prepared solely through diet and training because I haven't been able to have the supplements," Mackenzie said.
"I think I'm better for it. I've also been working with a ballet teacher on my routines. I'm always really soft through the centre. Now I have abs."
Mackenzie will be judged on muscularity, symmetry and her free pose.
