ORANGE and Cabonne Fire Services have taken the opportunity to thank several businesses for their kind donations to help combat the fire season.
The gathering took place at Cabonne Shire’s Orange office.
NSW Auto-Extra donated recovery gear to help fire trucks get out of bogs, Bunnings Hardware handed over a toolbox and the Masonic Lodge donated $600.
Clifton Grove Rural Fire Service captain Gary Livingstone has put a lot of ground work into obtaining funding and donations from the businesses and said he was extremely grateful for their generosity.
“We are all set up now for this fire season which looks like it could be a bad one,” Mr Livingstone said.
The fire season began in Cabonne on November 1 and begins in Orange and Blayney areas on December 1.
When the fire season starts a permit is required from councils before a fire can be lit.
