Developers Zauner Construction and James Richmark Pty Ltd hope to have the GP floor on level two of Bloomfield Medical Centre complete sometime in November, meaning patients will be able to visit their doctor inside the landmark building.
The walls for the rooms are up already, with work continuing on the reception area and fittings still to go in.
Zauner Construction managing director Garry Zauner gave the Central Western Daily a tour of the floor, saying the inclusion of a board room would allow the hospital's professionals to meet and share knowledge.
"It's integrating towards the same goal," he said.
The specialists' floor on level five is scheduled for completion by late January, with the first operations expected to be under way by Easter.
Plans for the fitout of the surgical and ward floors, which will contain seven theatres, 11 beds and 20 recovery chairs, remain with NSW Health for approval before a development application can be forwarded to Orange City Council.
Orange Private Hospital director Dr Bill Mackie said having seven theatres meant they could be specialised for certain operations and minimise infection risk.
"Everyone's very excited, this keeps us ahead of the game," he said.
Meanwhile, Jeremy Norris will add the cafe on the ground floor to his existing businesses, Byng Street Cafe and the coffee cart inside Orange Health Service.
He said he hoped to have the cafe running by Christmas, with a manager and barista already in place.
"We're thinking we would really like to go healthy - fresh juices, salads and something suitable for vegetarians and vegans because there's not much on offer in town," he said.
"There will be no hot chips, no fryer."
He anticipated the extensive dining area would be fitted out to look like an outdoor garden, with a range of seating options.
