A representative of the Regional New South Wales Islamic Centre delivered the prayer before club chief executive officer Daniel Perkiss told the council the pool was expected to cost $6.5 million in upgrades and running costs in the coming years.

He then offered the facility to the council to lease for 10 years for $1 a year.

Councillors resolved to investigate the proposal against building a second indoor pool at Hill Street or at the proposed multipurpose sporting facility.

Staff also revealed out of about $16 million in grants applied for with the federal government, the council only succeeded in receiving $20,000, for a LGBTIQ festival. 

Debate on parking fines was deferred until after the state election amid questions about whether processing fees to the government would also come down.

The 17-lot subdivision at 168 Shiralee Road was passed after most councillors were satisfied the developer would not be able to develop the second stage until consent was obtained with the neighbours.
