Each team member running or walking will be dressed in a different colour – from ties to gloves to skirts – to represent various different cancers.
Team member and teacher Alison Crocker said she would be wearing gold to represent children’s cancers.
She said it was the first year for both her and for the school, with both her and team captain Emily Scott also on the Relay for Life Committee.
“Once a few of us got involved in the committee we decided we should enter the school team,” she said.
Ms Scott will be wearing blue for her partner’s mother’s bowel cancer.
The team was currently sitting at $1600 of their goal of $3000 to be raised for the Cancer Council, but was hoping for a big surge in donations and team members with school returning from Tuesday.
“We’re excited for the new event,” Ms Scott said.
It’s the first time the school has entered a team in Relay for Life, which runs from May 4 to 5 at the Orange Showgrounds.
