Benjamin Robert Theobold, 25, of Jubilee Avenue was travelling south on Coogal Drive at about 1.30am on February 18 when he tried to turn right onto Forbes Road.
However, police said he turned the corner too fast and his Holden Rodeo hit the kerb and rolled.
Police said when officers attended, Theobold admitted he was the driver and alcohol had been a factor in the accident.
He registered a blood alcohol reading of 0.135.
He told police he had consumed the full-strength beer between 6.30pm and 1am, but he had consumed several sausage sandwiches.
Theobold represented himself in Orange Local Court on a charge of mid-range PCA, telling magistrate Jacqueline Trad he had done the wrong thing.
“I was lucky no one was injured, or myself,” he said.
Ms Trad reminded him, as a provisional driver, his reading should have been zero.
“You clearly knew that,” she said.
“You were drinking and decided to drive, there’s no excuse.”
She gave him an 18-month good behaviour bond.
Bail for appeal
A man imprisoned for drug offences has been released awaiting appeal.
Duane Edward Blandford 39, of Oxley Place received a four-month non-parole period on February 19 for two counts of possessing a prohibited drug.
Solicitor Andrew Rolfe said Blandford was awaiting a severity appeal in Orange District Court, but he would have already served most of his sentence by the next sittings in May.
“It takes away all the options for the district court to structure a sentence.”
