Undefeated and super impressive throughout the opening four rounds of the Andrew Johns Cup, naturally, Western heads to Camden for Saturday’s final round expected to win.

Kurt Hancock knows it’s never that easy though.
The Rams under 16s tackle a Greater Southern Region Wests Tigers outfit laced with size and power, one that’s bullied its way through opposition packs during the country championship.
Despite remaining undefeated and already locked in to play finals, Western’s biggest test of the tournament comes in the form of the beefed-up Tigers and Hancock says it’s on his side to muscle up as it gears towards another championship finals campaign.
“They pushed Illawarra … they’re no dummies,” Hancock said of Saturday’s GSR outfit.
“On their day they can be a handful because they’re so big and powerful. We’ve got to weather that first 20 minutes, if we can do that then they should’t be able to go the distance with us.”
Aiding Western in its attempt to weather to expected barrage of big men from the Tigers is the return of props Tom Phillips and Marlin Pollack.
Phillips was impressive in the Rams’ opening round win over Penrith before limping off with a hip issue that’s kept him out until this Saturday’s fixture.
The return of Bloomfield product Pollack enables Hancock to shift Bourke bruiser Charlie Holman to the bench.
“A couple of big boppas off the bench is something we haven’t had since the first game, it’s something we’ll need too,” he said.
“It’s probably to be honest the most balanced side we had.
“For us to go a bit further we’ll need those big guys on the bench. GSR is a big side. They play through the middle and try and bully you.
The Rams will undergo a different preparation for this weekend’s game at Camden.
Unlike previous road trips where both Western’s under 16s and under 18s will train while on the road, the Rams’ squads will this trip head to Campbelltown to watch the Wests Tigers-Brisbane Broncos clash on Friday night.
It’s a move designed to reward the hard work of the players as much as it is to test whether or not the young Rams can adapt to different situations.
“They’ve been working extremely hard and they’ve earned that afternoon off,” Hancock said.
“Bit out of the norm for us. Interesting to see how they react to that.”
Western takes on the Tigers from 1.20pm at Kirkham Park, Camden, on Saturday.
