Mr Bliss will take over from David Lloyd, who has been appointed into the new role of Director Education Leadership.
Orange Principals Network’s Duncan Auld said Mr Bliss, with some 15 years of experience in educational leadership, will bring extensive knowledge and experience to the role.
For the past two years, Mr Bliss has held a leadership role supervising and mentoring principals across NSW.
He was due to to return to his previous role at Canobolas Rural Technology High School in 2019.
Mr Bliss – who last year won a prestigious education award which included a fellowship for staff development, training and implementing and continuing programs – is one of 35 principals that will take up positions at public schools across the state next term.
Kate Wootten will continue as principal at The Canobolas Rural Technology High School in a relieving capacity until recruitment for that position is finalised.
