He’s enjoyed the thrill of an African safari, a Kilimanjaro trek, and a tour of Zanzibar last August.
“I hadn’t done a lot of travel previously and I’m acutely aware that I’m not getting any younger,” said Mr Jackson.
“I realised that it was time to seize the day and I’m so glad I did – I’ve definitely got the travel bug and I’m looking now to do Everest base camp next year.”
Mr Jackson’s travels have been organised through World Expeditions which is hosting a free adventure travel event at the Ex Services’ Club on Thursday.
The evening will give insight into the different ways to travel, including culinary tours, cycle trips, family holidays, self-guided treks, as well as small group treks.
World Expeditions staff member, Gesine (Gus) Cheung – whose family is from Orange – is presenting.
Ms Cheung will detail World Expedition’s best travel experiences on each of the seven continents.
She said her aim is to provide information and inspiration to attendees to get out and have an adventure.
“I want to help people find the trip that’s right for them, so they can get out there and explore the world’s most magical wilderness regions and remarkable cultures,” said Ms Cheung.
The event kicks off at 6pm.
