Twelve Rural Fire Service (RFS) brigades responded to a fire at Clifton Grove at about 4.15pm Sunday amid blustery conditions.

The Clifton Grove brigade were able to respond within minutes after volunteers spent the majority of the weekend on standby at stations due to a total fire ban across the Central West.
The twelve crews were able to keep the fire, which started in bush and jumped to grass, to under a hectare.
A police investigation into the fire is currently underway.
RFS Canobolas Zone fire mitigation officer Geoff Selwood was glad the RFS were able to get the blaze under control quickly.
“Everyone was on standby,” he said.
“With the wind we had it had the potential to go much bigger.”
He said firefighters were expecting the worst on the weekend, and had been lucky to only have the Clifton Grove blaze, a small fire at Cudal and a tree catching alight at the top of Mount Canobolas.
