The score of the day belonged to Nelson Bay’s Rhona Birss, who carded 42 stableford points to sit atop the women’s B grade leaderboard at time of publication. Kareela’s Nola Maughan carded 41 to lead A grade while Cessnock’s Maureen Donaldson led C grade with 40.
Wentworth Falls’ Jim Addison led the men’s B grade competition after shooting 40 points, while Leura’s James Forrester and St Georges Basin’s Robert McLaren led A grade with 33.
In C grade, Ryde-Parramatta’s Peter Guy carded 36 to lead. The women continue at Wentworth on day two, with the men at the Country Club before rounds at Duntryleague and Wentworth on Thursday’s final day, respectively.
