The RFS responded to a call at just after 4pm Tuesday to a fire on the state park side of the Mullion Ranges, which totalled about 200 metres by 50 metres.
Using heavy plant and light firefighting units, as well as aviation containment lines, the RFS were able to constrain the fire.
RFS Canobolas Zone district officer Lachlan Allan said by 6pm “everything was put out except a few logs burning”.
National Parks were expecting to have the last remnants of the fire extinguished by Wednesday afternoon.
No properties were in danger from the blaze.
