The show never fails to produce a great line-up of entertainment and this year is no different.
Show-goers will enjoy classic show favourites such as the Showgirl Competition, Friendship farm, the ‘Wet Nose Tail Wagging Pet Dog Show’, Yard Dog Trials, Dog High Jump, Heritage Tractors, trucks and machinery, Ring Events, Military Display and Memorabilia, Sideshows, U Beaut Utes, Championship Dog Show and show jumping as well as many other great stalls and entertainment.
Also returning to this year’s show is the ever-popular Wood Chop and Decorated Gumboot Parade.
Categories in the competition are Animal – Junior (Under 14), Senior (0ver 14yrs).
All you need is a gold coin to gain entry.
Competition and creative flair are strong this year and there are a number of unique and unusual ways to to enjoy the show.
The best of the most unusual will be on display including a parade of decorated gumboots after the pet dog show.
This year Blayney had the honour of hosting the prestigious Showgirl Zone 6 Finals on February 17th, with over 20 entrants from local shows as far as Nyngan coming to compete for 3 places to represent zone 6 at the Land Sydney Royal Showgirl Competition at the Easter show.
Our 2017 Blayney Showgirl Micheala Collins was a strong representative for our local community and is encouraging others to continue her journey.
This year, the show committee are calling for young ladies aged 18-25 who would like to enter this year’s Blayney Showgirl competition.
There is still time to enter and all you have to do is head over to the show website for more information on the competition and to read about why the Showgirl Competition is valuable to women in rural areas.
The 2018 Blayney Showgirl will be announced at this year’s Blayney Show on March 3rd.
This year the show will be opened at 1.30pm by NSW Rural Ambassador Emily Clapham followed by the Blayney Showgirl Competition at 1.40pm and the Grand Parade at 1.50pm.
The local show is a great chance to meet up with old friends, enjoy the best the region has to offer and have some good ‘ol fashioned country fun.
