Regular 1500-metre track runner Rorey Hunter stretched out his regular distance to win the Westfund Health Insurance 10-kilometre race at the Orange Running Festival [ORF] on Sunday morning.

The Canberra athlete won from Hugh Williams and Bryce Anderson in the time of 31 minutes and four seconds.
“I’m a 1500 runner,” he said.
“I just came back from the nationals last week.”

It was his first run at the distance at the ORF and said he enjoyed the challenge.
“It was fun course,” he said.
“The dirt out the back was pretty rough though. It was hard to get your footing.”
He said the longer distance helped him with training for the 1500 metres.
“It helps my endurance.
“For the 1500 you need both a little speed and endurance.”
First woman home was Charles Sturt University physiotherapy student Paige Campbell, 21, of Warren.
