Charlie Greer hit an impressive 69 while Hamish McIntyre [44] and Fletcher Rose [36] provided handy support to help Kinross to 245.
Greer then boosted Kinross’s hopes even further by taking two crucial wickets at the end of the day to leave Centrals in strife at 2-3.
Centrals’ captain Darryl Kennewell and Dan Sandford bowled a hefty 26 overs each.
Kennewell snared a vital 6-85 while Sandford grabbed all the other wickets to finish on 4-57.
Kennewell said he was confident the team had the batting strength to overcome the Kinross total after a tough day in the field that included having to start with only 10 players.
Our fielding let us down. We dropped six catches.
- Daryl Kennewell, Centrals
“Our fielding let us down. We dropped six catches and we dropped 11 the game before,” he said.
“It just comes down to concentration. They have got to be concentrating on every ball, it is first grade cricket.
“It was disappointing but at the end of the day we’ve still got to make the runs.
“We’ve got the batters there to do it.”
He said he had hoped to get an outright victory but that was now looking hard to achieve.
Kennewell said a win would leave his side two points shy of third-placed CYMS, with Centrals slated to play competition leaders Orange City in the final round.
