If Mudgee beats Dubbo it will face Duntryleague again in the first week of the finals, while a loss on Sunday would see another meeting against Dubbo in the post-season.
Andrew Best, who’s fresh off a victory (2 and 1) during his side’s triumph of Duntry, knows Dubbo will be hard to beat but is also mindful it isn’t a ‘must win’ situation.
“Luckily for us we’re in a pretty comfortable position,” Best said.
“We’d obviously like to beat Dubbo but if we lose we still get to go around again in the finals.
I’m not sure if we’ve really got a preference as to who we play in the finals.

“I’m not sure if we’ve really got a preference as to who we play in the finals. Both teams are handy but we’d probably prefer Duntryleague considering we just beat them recently.”
The Mudgee men will travel to Wellington on Sunday for a meeting with Dubbo in the fourth round of the 2018 pennants competition.
Meanwhile Duntryleague plays Orange rivals Wentworth on Sunday, also at Wellington. In the lower divisions Duntry plays Forbes and Bathurst while Wenty plays the Country Club.
