THERE is a new opponent which could stop Orange claiming an 18th consecutive Central West State League title in 2013 - Orange Netball Association folding.
The ONA is struggling to fill key committee positions, including the president's role.
The situation is so urgent, if people don't come on board soon the ONA will fold and there will be no netball in 2013.
Jacki Jasprizza is the vice-president and has taken on the president's role in a caretaker position for now.
She said she can't take on the president's role for the 2013 season due to her children's sporting commitments.
"The 2013 season will be cancelled if we cannot fill committee positions," Jasprizza said.
"The president's position is vacant and without it filled, the association can't function and will have to be dissolved, meaning no competition next year."
Cindy Gilchrist was the ONA president for the last three years but can no longer hold a position on the committee due to increasing work and family commitments.
Other positions which remain vacant are rep coordinator, junior comp secretary, senior comp secretary and carnival convener.
Jasprizza said people would be given assistance in the committee roles.
She said it was disappointing some clubs had not been represented at council meetings.
"It is in their interest to have someone on the committee and at meetings to steer decisions," she said.
"We had the AGM in August and there were positions unfilled. We were hoping to have them filled by the end of the season but people didn't want to commit.
"We have a skeleton staff, I guess, and we're doing the best we can. The more people you have the more we can share the load."
Jasprizza said it would be great to see some men on the committee.
This year was an outstanding one for Orange netball with a 17th Central West State League win as well as claiming the Netball NSW division two open championship.
In 2013, Orange would be gunning for more representative titles but that is all now in jeopardy.
The ONA is also looking for people to coach the representative sides in 2013 from under 11s through to under 19s.
Anyone who wants to help out by taking on a committee position or as a representative coach can express their interest via email to orangenetball1@bigpond.com.
An ONA council meeting will be held at the Orange PCYC on Monday, November 19 at 7pm to address the major issues.
All club delegates must attend and there will be penalties for the clubs who are not represented.
