In a post on the centre’s Facebook page on Monday morning, staff notified residents of the closure and apologised for any inconvenience.
“It is likely to reopen on Tuesday and we will let you know when it is open again,” the post read.
Orange City Council’s Manager of Corporate and Community Relations Nick Redmond explained the closure.
“The specialist supplier delivers liquid chlorine pumped directly into a 3,000 litre tank,” Mr Redmond said.
“The order for chlorine was placed last year, but the supplier was not able to deliver.”
Mr Redmond said the delivery is expected to arrive on Tuesday.
“Because of the swimming carnival season, the priority is keeping the outdoor pool and the 25-metre indoor pool operating,” he said.
