According to an update on the company’s website, there are now 205 residences and businesses impacted.
Most of those are in the area around Bill Marshall and Nicole drives in Bel-Air.
MONDAY, 8AM: ALMOST 1500 residences and businesses in Orange are without power on Monday morning.
Essential Energy is reporting an unplanned blackout has left parts of the north and west of the city without electricity supply.
The blackout started at 7.43am and there are 1491 customers affected.
The impacted area is north of Dalton Street and Forbes Road, west of Hill Street, and east and south of the Northern Distributor Road.
Essential Energy crews are investigating the cause of the outage.
There is no estimated restoration time at present.
In a statement on its Facebook page, Essential Energy apologised “for any inconvenience” and thanks customers for their patience.
