IN A show of support for Remembrance Day on Sunday, November 11, Officeworks Orange is selling fundraising poppy pins.
As one of the few plants to bloom across the battlefields of Europe during World War I, the red Flanders Poppy has become an international symbol of sacrifice and remembrance.
Funds raised from the sale of poppy pins support The United Returned Soldiers Fund (URSF) and the Returned and Services League (RSL).
Officeworks Orange stationary coordinator Paul Williams said their team was proud to be raising money for such a meaningful cause.
“Officeworks has been supporting the Poppy Appeal for four years and we are extremely honoured to be remembering those who served our country through this worthy appeal,” he said.
Last year Officeworks stores around Australia raised more than $19,000 for the RSL and URSF nationally.
Poppy pins valued at $2, $5 and $10 can be purchased at Officeworks at 179-181 Byng Street, Orange.
