Organiser Denis Gregory said the event coincided with the 70th anniversary of Holden and as a result almost every make and model of the brand was on display.
It included a side-by-side comparison of the first and last Holden Monaro.
There was also a display of old tractors and three special guests.
Fred Gibson was inducted into the V8 Supercars Hall of Fame after decades of racing, his wife and touring car veteran Christine (Cole) Gibson is remembered as the first lady of Bathurst, and Swiss racer Simona de Silvestro, is the only full-time female driver in the V8 Supercars and drives a Nissan for Harvey Norman.
While Miss de Silverstro is the current face of women in Supercar racing, Mr Gregory said Mrs Gibson raced in the 1960s and 70s when she raced against the men on tracks including Mount Panorama.
Sharon Rosser of Orange was among the proud car owners and her blue 1978 model Ford Escort drew attention.
Set beside her cousin Cory Rosser’s Holden LX Torana she said they did have rivalry going on during showing but outside the competition they have looked after each other’s cars.
Miss Rosser said she bought her car 10 or 11 years ago and spent eight years doing it up.
“We only take it local shows and Summernats,” she said.
Rob Robertson of Narromine brought along his 1960 White Mustang truck, which he has had since 1976 when he used it as a working vehicle transporting wool.
After being put away in a shed he eventually decided to do it up.
“It took me about 10 years on and off,” Mr Robertson said.
Darryl Brooks of Dubbo also used to drive his ex-RAAF 1942 Chevy truck, which he purchased in 1970, while working on his farm. But after he retired he decided to restore it.
It’s one of several projects and he next one will be a V8 Falcon ute followed by a 1948 Straight-8 Buick.
Mr Brooks said his first refurbishment was an Austin 20.
“It’s the family heirloom, and the Brooks have had it since 1935,” he said.
