Well, the finals kick-off in the mixed and junior competitions anyway. The open senior leagues have a general bye, due to the NSW Touch Junior State Cup in Port Macquarie.
In division two, minor premiers Joseph Mateo Memorial (JMM) will play Cover Me Karaoke in the major semi-final after a major shake-up to the table following last week’s final regular season round.
The former side was sitting third leading into last Tuesday’s last game and promptly thumped Alley Cats 11-4, and that combined with the bonus points awarded to all teams who completed all their referee duties pushed JMM to the top of the table.
Cover Me Karaoke drew 5-5 with then competition leaders Wired Mobile Auto Electrics, which ultimately finished third and will face fourth-placed Royal Rebels.
Meanwhile in the under-14 boys’ competition, minor premiers Hotsteppers were enjoying a last round bye before this week’s major semi-final.
With the minor title already wrapped up the undefeated side sat back and watched as their major semi-final opponents, Elusive Alliance, walloped the Incredibles 8-0 to gain some serious form, confidence and momentum leading into the play-offs.
The big defeat could be an ominous sign for the Incredibles, considering the side ultimately finished fourth and will play the Dragons in the minor semi-final.
