Why?
Because the competition now changes from 50-over games to two-day cricket, something no side has played any of this summer.
There’s been two-day rounds scheduled, but both have had one of those days of play washed out and thus reverted back to a 40-over game.
“Here’s hoping we get three full rounds of two-day cricket in now before the finals,” ODCA president Mark Frecklington said.
“I’m sure a lot people would say two-day cricket is just an extension of the 50-over game, but it is very different and I think we can probably throw form out the window in a way.
“Anything could happen from here, it’s a whole new ball game.”
Orange City and Kinross are the only two side who will have the benefit of playing all three games, with CYMS, Cavaliers and Centrals all down for a bye leading into the semi-finals.
Centrals have theirs in this game, while Orange City takes on Kinross at Wade Park and the continuously Josh Doherty-led Cavaliers face old rivals CYMS at Country Club Oval.
With outright points now on offer again, both games kick off at 1pm on Saturday and continue from the same time the following week.
