The sessions for children who are after increased sensory input to develop coordination, manage emotions and enjoy the social benefits of being part of a team.
Seed Paediatric Services director Sarah McInnes said the sessions, designed for younger children, are a mix of occupational therapy and rugby.
“Sensory input such as heavy work, crashing and crawling supports regulation of the nervous system which can promote a calm, focused state opening up opportunities for social engagement.”
Some of the activities involved include children being crushed by a tackle mat, rolling in the grass and crawling through a fabric tunnel.
Sessions begin on February 1 at Endeavour Oval, to RSVP on 6363 1870 or toni@seedpaediatricservices.com.
