Police have pleaded with drivers not to leave dogs in cars after four had to be rescued in heatwave conditions across Orange.

Canobolas Local Area Command Acting Inspector Yonneka Hill said in the worst case a dog was trapped for 20 minutes until its owner returned.
“The dog was in a bit of stress,” she said.
The incidents had occurred in various areas around Orange over the weekend as temperatures soared to 35 degrees.
She said police normally called out the ranger to assist them.
In all the cases the dogs were rescued before coming to any harm.
The hot weather will continue for a few days.
The temperature was expected to hit 35 degrees on Monday and 32 degrees on Tuesday and Wednesday.
