Mr Provost said the club was now a community asset worth more than $60 million.
“After 10 years it’s time to hand over the baton,” he said.
He said it was time for him to “action other opportunities.”
The club has not announced a replacement chief executive officer.
However a statement released on Friday said he would be available to help with “a positive handover.”
Mr Provost said the club’s asset base had increased by $20 million to more than $60 million in his term and it now employed about 250 staff.
“The value of this community asset now means Orange Ex-Services’ Club is one of the region’s top institutions,” he said.
“When I think about where this community asset was in 2008 and where it is now, I’m extremely proud.”
A particular achievement was the club’s introduction of its 25-year master plan which had seen major improvements to the facilities.
