Whether you think it’s a genuine holiday or one simply conceived to make money from the gullible, it’s still a wonderful chance to celebrate your love, spend valuable time with your significant other and generally stoke the fires of your relationship.
Unless you’re single, of course, or you play for Orange City or Centennials.
Orange District Cricket Association probably shouldn’t expect any cards or presents from the players’ partners this year, because the only date the Warriors and Bulls have of Valentine’s Day is with each other.
The two sides were scheduled to face-off in late December but the game was postponed due to the pitch not being prepared, and the ODCA settled on February 14 as the replacement date last week.
There were three options available, with January 24 actually the ODCA’s preferred date.
That date would’ve avoided either side playing on Wednesday night and then being forced to back-up on Friday, however the Bulls will be doing that with Valentine’s Day confirmed.
Both sides need to win to keep their finals hopes alive.
