They will both start at Kinross Wolaroi School on Wednesday, January 31 and already have everything they will require.
Harper attended pre-prep at the school last year but it will be a big change for Toby who lives in Bathurst and attended All Saints College in 2017.
Harper has tried her uniform on a few times already and is looking forward to seeing friends she made last year, meeting new friends and learning to read.
Her mother Nicole Purvis said pre-prep has smoothed the transition and she is looking forward to seeing her daughter develop.
She said it was challenging to decide on a school, but she liked the classrooms and what Kinross had to offer and said it won’t matter what her daughter decides to do as she gets older because the opportunities are there.
It was Toby’s decision to attend the school and was made easier by a new school bus that will run direct between the school and Bathurst enabling him to reach home at 4.15pm.
“I really wanted to come to this school because it has a very vast range of subject choices, they’ve got great facilities I’ve heard they’ve got really nice teachers,” Toby said.
“I wanted to come here because they have a really great drama program, music program, try sports, I’m really looking forward to doing Latin and French.”
Toby will also take part in the swimming program and travelled to the school for swimming last year.
His best friend from his year 6 class will also attend the school and he said he is social and is not worried about making new friends.
His mother Michelle Gough said because it is a big school it has a variety of opportunities but she is nervous because it’s a big change for her son to go into high school.
“He really convinced us to come and have a look at the school and we were very impressed with the facilities and size and subject choice,” she said.
