Last year’s inaugural meetings on the grass track were undeniable successes, and Orange Harness Racing Club and Racing Orange will hope this weekend’s Carnival of Cups heats and next month’s finals will continue that trend.
Sunday’s meeting has attracted trainers and drivers from all over the region, including the state’s best in Bathurst’s Amanda Turnbull, who won last year’s Banjo Paterson Cup with Parramatta.
She’ll steer Gold Onyx in the third and Intransit in the fifth, for Cowra’s Colin Fliedner and her father Steve Turnbull respectively.
Both those races are among the six heats on Sunday’s card, with the finals to be held on Sunday, February 4.
The first, the Visit Orange City Pace (1609m) kicks off at 1.27.
