Fresh from pummeling 102 against Shoalhaven earlier that day, Bhullar smacked 30 before being retired as the Gold side piled on 4-143, with Wakatipu’s Seth Mawhinney (28 not out), Shoalhaven’s Ryan Hall (23), St George’s Dylan Brown (20) and Dubbo’s Ben Rosenbaum (15) all chipping in along the way as well.
Manly-Warringah’s Noah Moss (2-8) and ACT’s Muhammed Harron (1-23) picked up the wickets, while Josh Mills (6) was run out by ACT’s Liz Coper-Jones.
Bhullar then cleaned up Black’s tail by taking 3-14 from his two overs and eradicating any chance of an unlikely resurgence late in the chase.
Despite Dubbo gun Tom Coady (39) going ballistic at the top of the order – he hit four sixes in the 30 he made before being retired – and then returning to the crease late in the chase, the Black side could only muster 101 in reply.
Outside Bhullar, ACT’s Tom Ison also picked up three wickets, for just four runs, while ACT’s Monica Gair (1-20), Mawhinney (1-7) Manly Warringah’s Liam Chang (1-5) all took scalps as well.
The clash lit up Wade Park, as all of the carnivals’ sides nominated a couple of players who were then split up into two teams, before thrilling the bumper crowd.
