People queued with bags, boxes, trolleys and bins full of cans, glass and plastic bottles that they’d been saving since it was announced the scheme was coming to Orange.
Frances Dickinson and her children Grace and Toby brought $30 worth of items to the facility and Mrs Dickinson she had the funds added to the family Paypal account.
“We’ve been saving up for about four months since they started talking about it,” Mrs Dickinson said.
“This is only half of it, we’ve got about half of it at home, the car was full I had to put the seat down and the kids had to squish in.”
Mrs Dickinson said the family had previously taken cans to be recycled, but the money back was better at the Return and Earn facility.
Although almost all items she entered were accepted she said they had to have a bar-code to be eligible.
Another dedicated recycler, Mlaven Papich brought along a wheelie bin full of bottles he’d been saving.
