QUITE often when walking on footpaths in the Orange CBD I am overtaken by someone speeding by on a bike, skateboard or scooter, especially during the school holidays.

I’d like to suggest that if Orange City Council can’t enforce this simple but necessary bylaw, that the many signs displayed in the CBD be removed.
Perhaps they could be replaced with signs warning people to watch out for speeding skateboards and bicycles?
Unfortunately, some young people seem to regard the signs as a real joke, and simply ignore them.
It seems a great pity – and a worry – that people of all ages can’t walk on the CBD’s footpaths without looking over their shoulders for speeding bikes and skateboards.
