Halloween horror on the menu

WOULD you like a spider with that cake?

That was the question of the day at Roberts Bakery as they celebrated Halloween yesterday.

Co-owner Andrew Buckingham said it was a great opportunity for staff to get dressed up in the ghoulish theme and have some fun.

“It was a great day and I think the staff and customers had fun,” he said.

It was not just the staff at the front counter who got into the Halloween spirit, with bakers whipping up cupcakes topped with spiders, eyeballs and pumpkins.

“We’ve got some very skilled tradespeople down here, which definitely helped out with letting customers know what we do,” he said.

Mr Buckingham said he also added a few battery-operated ghost and witch figurines, which sprung into life when customers walked past them.

“It was a great day.”
