A secondary focus of the visit was how services and schools in rural and remote parts of Australia address those needs.
David Evans from Sydney University accompanied the group which included special education and early childhood trainers, principals and teachers from schools across Indonesia, and a representative from Yogyakarta State University.
Orange Christian School principal Melissa Brown said collaboration and observation of effective practices was key to improvement.
