Students in the good books

YEAR 9 students from James Sheahan Catholic High School were mobbed by kindergarten children yesterday.

James Sheahan student Tahnee Dunford-Lawrence barely escaped after about 30 St Mary’s Catholic Primary School children crowded around with excitement to hear the story she had written and illustrated.

Tahnee wrote a story about a cat up a tree and the characters were based on people in her life.

She said she was thrilled to have the opportunity to read the story to the children.

“It’s fun, I reckon it’s good seeing them so excited,” she said.

The high school students were at the school as part of a reading program designed to engage the younger and older children.
