Centrals bounced back to form on the weekend after a loss to score a fourth win from their last five starts, taking down CYMS by 62 runs.
Mark Hayman slashed his way to 65 at the top of the order while Will Richard plodded to 50 from number five as Centrals posted 5-202.
Ben Bock’s well-constructed 48 was CYMS’ top score, but just three other players made it to double figures as the green and golds fell for 140.
Matt Burgess was Centrals’ best bowler, with 4-11 from 7.3 overs.
CYMS accounted for Orange City in Centenary Cup on Saturday, staying in touch with the high-flying Kinross outfit in the process.
The green and golds trail Kinross (24) by just three points now, with Orange City (3) a long way back in third.
Anthony Daintith (52) and Stephen Wotton (52) led CYMS well at the top of the order, with Gerard Hannelly chipping in with 37 not out and catapulting his side to 6-204.
Orange City could only must 86 in reply.
Centrals-Wanderers suffered a shock loss in fourth grade on the weekend, to CYMS.
In an uncharacteristic performance Centrals-Wanderers were skittled for just 78 in reply to CYMS’ 88.
CYMS also picked up a tight win against Spring Hill in the third and fourth grade cross-over. Troy Eden banged out 71 in CYMS’ dig of 161, and although Dallas Marsh posted 61 the Wood Ducks fell 11 short.
Orange City (3-89) also defeated Waratahs (88) in third grade on the weekend.
