It’s been a busy 45 years for the Centrals Cricket Club in Orange and a few of the club’s stalwarts are preparing to celebrate each and every milestone.
The brainchild of Centrals talisman Graeme Judge, the red and blacks will be holding an old boys day on Saturday, February 10.
“The idea was mainly just to get everyone together again and have a beer and a laugh,” Judge said.
He said the day would be a great occasion to help celebrate the club’s successes, the last of which came in 2012-13 when Centrals won the Orange District Cricket Association’s third grade title.
“We’re keen to get together and celebrate all the club’s premierships we won together,” he added.
“For me personally it has been 20 years since our colts team went back-to-back (in 1995-96 and 1996-97), 14 years since we won the second grade title with Ricky Blake as captain (in 2003-04).”
Judge and current Centrals governor Matthew Tedeschi are encouraging anyone who has played with the club to attend the old boys day, which will be at The Royal Hotel from 3pm on February 10.
“In my time we have never had an old boys day,” Judge said.
“And just to get everyone back together again will be great.
“Teddy told me that this year is 45 years since Centrals Cricket Club was formed, so it’s as good a time as ever to have an old boys get together.”
“All players, supporters, families, sponsors, and anyone having had involvement in the club is welcome, it’ll be a great day,” Tedeschi added.
The cost for the day is $30, with an old boys shirt and food provided in the cost.
Anyone interested in attending can contact Tedeschi (0431580032) or Judge (0421508151) for more details.
