While $3.25 favourite Better Under Fire’s run was excellent in claiming the $5,100 Gilgandra Toyota/Sporties Pace (2,120 metres) Orange’s Jake Davis steered Taylah Studleigh ($5) to a strong third, he was just edged out at the line for second.
