A two-year trial has led to all shops being given the option to trade the day after Christmas.
Previously Boxing Day trade was restricted to businesses in Sydney.
Next week, the NSW Government’s industrial relations department will hold two workshops for workers and business owners.
The workshops will be held on Tuesday, November 28 from 9.30am to 10.30am and again from 11.30am to 12.30pm.
The government has created penalties for businesses who force employees to work on Boxing Day, with fines of $11,000 per worker.
Landlords who force tenants to open their doors for trade can be fined $22,000.
While Orange businesses have the option to trade on Boxing Day, not all shops will open – Bensons Cafe is one coffee shop which be closed, while Harvey Norman is set to open.
