IF I had a magic wand in my hand, I'd wish for a dozen highway patrol cars to be based in and around Orange for a week.
Every day I'm aware that there's a small percentage of people who shouldn't be behind the wheel of a car or on a motor bike.
They may be unlicensed, on drugs, thoughtless and angry, or simply can't be bothered to obey basic road rules.
Also, I'm sure that if cameras were positioned at pedestrian crossings with traffic lights in the CBD, they'd run out of film photographing the large number of people who can't wait a minute or two for the green light to appear.
Even more concerning are those adults who cross illegally with young children. Where is that magic wand when you need it?
