Endsleigh Avenue was home to Frockwork Orange for 18 years and despite a move to Lords Place, opposite Kelly’s Hotel, customers had already found the shop.
Mrs Hobbs said parking was much easier at 138 Lords Place.
“I used to see regular customers drive up and down looking for a park [on Endsleigh Avenue] and then they’d give up,” Mrs Hobbs said.
“A move wasn’t on the cards, but we’re very pleased that we have. We’re closer to town but not unbearably close to town, we’re within walking distance.”
SHARING A RED
Whether it’s a quick white before a show, or maybe a red to settle dinner – Soiree by Faisan Estate is there to share an appreciation of wine.
The wine bar is a way to showcase some of the Faisan Estate Wines made from Borenore-grown fruit.
“We’re also doing other wines which are a bit unusual, interesting but more importantly worth drinking,” Faisan Estate owner Michael Walker said.
Mr Walker said the bar was based on similar ones found in France and Spain and were about creating a jovial atmosphere.
The bar will open from Wednesday to Sunday, with a small tapas menu planned as well around 20 different wines available.
COMMUNITY BANK
Canowindra’s community bank committee is urging people to attend a meeting.
The committee is looking to ensure a proposal to establish a Bendigo Bank agency can be opened in the town as their only other bank is set to close soon.
Bendigo Bank representatives will be on hand to answer questions about the process and milestones required to establish a full-fledged community bank.
The meeting will be held at the Canowindra Services Club from 7pm on Tuesday.
CAFE GOES EAST
Bathurst’s Brilliant Street is set to be the next location for the Byng Street Group.
Bathurst Regional Council has approved for development plans for a new cafe and eatery to open in the vacant retail building.
The prime location will benefit from traffic travelling between the two cities on the Mitchell Highway.
