Of the oldest age groups, in the under 14s boys’ division Hotsteppers, Elusive Alliance and the Dragons have stamped their authority, although the likes of the Incredibles and I Like Yellow People have shown plenty of form too.
In the girls’ equivalent it looks to be a race of four sides, with little separating Aftershocks, Flames, Warriors and the brilliantly named Pretty Little Tryers.
The under 12s competitions are extremely close too, as are the under 10s boys’ and girls’ leagues.
In the latter Lollipops, Volvo Power and Crazy Frogs are neck-and-neck and they’re all boasting outstanding points differences, thanks to some superb attacking play in the early rounds.
It’s a similar situation for Orange Central Toucheroos, Nitro Steppers, Q Dogs and Vipers in the under 10s boys’ competition, in fact, they produced such good performances early that in the first four rounds they’d lost just one game combined.
COTA’s junior competitions continue on Wednesday afternoon, while the senior mixed divisions play on Tuesday night and the open men’s and women’s continue on Thursday.
All seven of the women’s divisions remain too close to call, with only a couple of teams remaining undefeated. COTA has also asked all teams to make sure they check their weekly referee duties.
